A 12-year-old girl has been charged with first degree murder after smothering her 8-year-old cousin as the younger girl slept in a bunk bed they shared in Humboldt, Tennessee.
The victim’s mother, Rayana Smith said the issue arose over an argument about an iPhone.
The unidentified girl allegedly used bedding to suffocate Demeria Hollingsworth before cleaning up and repositioning her body on Monday.
Smith said the girls were staying with their grandmother in Humboldt for the summer. She says the issue stemmed over an argument over an iPhone.
