A 12-year-old and a 20-year-old was arrested for shooting a sonic restaurant employee on May 13th around 9;30 P.M.
Keene officers responded to a call about a shooting at the Sonic resturant located on the 300 block of South Old Betsy.
Upon arrival, officers were directed to employee 32 year-old Matthew Davis who suffered several gunshot wounds. Davis was flown to Harris Methodist Hospital and rushed into surgery, but he died.
Keene police believe the suspect, 20-year-old Angel Gomez of Fort Worth, arrived at Sonic in his vehicle with other passengers in the car. Gomez then began acting disorderly in the parking lot and was confronted by Davis. As the altercation turned physical, a juvenile in the car’s passenger seat grabbed a firearm and fired multiple shots, hitting the victim. According to sources, the 12-year-old used an AR-style weapon and fired at least six rounds at Davis.
Gomez and the juvenile fled the scene. However, Gomez was taken into custody when he returned to the scene during the investigation. Further investigation led officers to a location in Rio Vista, about 15 miles from the scene, where they located the juvenile and multiple firearms. The juvenile was taken into custody alongside Gomez.
