The family of a woman killed by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper during a traffic stop last week have hired high-profile civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump and want to pursue legal action against the trooper.
Latasha Walton, 32, was shot and killed Tuesday by Florida state trooper Ronald Melendez-Bonilla during a traffic stop.
Cell phone video captured Melendez-Bonilla shooting his gun several times at Walton’s car, killing her near the Golden Glades Interchange in Northwest Miami-Dade. Walton’s family is now calling for justice.
