An internal investigation was initiated after an off-duty Harris County deputy was filmed pulling a gun on her sister’s boyfriend, leading to her reassignment.
Constable Alan Rosen revealed the reassignment Tuesday night, mentioning that the deputy’s behavior is being reviewed and ensuring the public will be kept informed about the investigation’s results.
The video shows the off-duty deputy, dressed in full uniform, pointing her gun at a man in a tense encounter, and making threats.
“Play with me. Play with me,” the deputy shouts. “Give me the phone.”
Fox26 reported that Micheal Evans, the individual in question, stated that the altercation started following a disagreement with his child’s mother, leading him to take her phone. He alleged that the woman’s sister, who is a deputy constable, chased him in her private car.
Precinct Statement: “What we understand at this point, is that this was a family dispute that involved our off-duty deputy. She has been reassigned to desk duty pending the outcome of an internal-affairs investigation. The public can be assured that an investigation is underway and we will be transparent with the outcome.”
