A salon owner in Temple Terrace, Florida, near Tampa, was charged with misdemeanor battery after allegedly attacking a customer during a dispute over an advertised $50 hair weave service.
The customer was initially quoted a different price—$130 instead of the advertised $50 sew-in weave special. The promotion had been displayed both on the salon’s door and on its Instagram page. The customer, Kathy Monroe, disputed the higher charge, calling it a “bait and switch.”
The incident escalated when Monroe began recording the confrontation on her phone. At that point, the salon owner, Tyronese Bivens of Mane Attraction Beauty Salon, allegedly grabbed her from behind, pulling her hair and yanking her neck backward.
Following the altercation, Bivens was charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal mischief in connection with the incident.
