Florida Sheriff Grady Judd warned that disruptive “teen takeover” incidents would not be tolerated in Polk County. He said that if groups of teens engage in violence, vandalism, or disrupt local businesses, law enforcement will respond and take appropriate action.
He also emphasized that accountability may extend beyond the juveniles involved. Depending on the circumstances and applicable laws, parents could face consequences if they fail to properly supervise or discipline their children.
Judd noted that there are existing laws that can hold juveniles, adults, and parents responsible for unlawful behavior, including regulations such as juvenile curfew ordinances. He encouraged parents to take responsibility for their children to prevent law enforcement intervention.
