Miami, Florida — A 20-year-old woman is facing multiple felony charges after police say she drugged a man she met at a hotel, stole his luxury Rolex watch, and later posted a selfie on social media wearing the stolen item, according to authorities.
Police identified the suspect as Deziree Nicole Hood, who was arrested in Miami-Dade County on charges including false imprisonment and grand theft.
According to a police arrest report, the first incident occurred on May 16 at a hotel in Virginia Gardens, where Hood met a man and consumed drinks with him.
Investigators say the victim later became disoriented and lost consciousness after allegedly ingesting a substance placed in his drink.
When he woke up, the man reported that his personal belongings were missing, including a $14,000 Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch.
Surveillance footage reviewed by investigators allegedly showed Hood inside the hotel and later leaving the property after the theft occurred.
The case gained widespread attention after police said Hood posted a selfie on social media wearing the stolen Rolex. Investigators believe the image helped confirm her identity and link her to the theft.
Laboratory testing later indicated the victim had benzodiazepines—commonly referred to as “benzos”—in his system, according to the report.
Authorities also say Hood was connected to a second incident days later at a Brickell hotel. In that case, a different man reported meeting her at a nightclub before inviting her back to his room, where they drank together.
The victim later told police he woke up hours later to find approximately $60,000 worth of jewelry and designer clothing missing.
Security footage allegedly showed Hood leaving the hotel with a bag and wearing items taken from the room.
Police said Hood was arrested and booked into jail, facing charges including:
Grand theft (2nd-degree and third-degree)
False imprisonment
Burglary-related offenses
Her bond was set at $10,000, and the investigation remains ongoing.
