New Jersey Woman Accused of Recording Child in Sexually Explicit Snapchat Videos.

A 25-year-old New Jersey woman is behind bars after authorities accused her of sexually assaulting a young child, recording the alleged abuse, and sharing at least one of the videos through Snapchat.

According to investigators, Victoria Anne Cranmer, of Little Egg Harbor, was arrested after a disturbing investigation uncovered videos allegedly showing the abuse of a child under the age of 13.

Prosecutors say the case came to light after a cellphone previously used by Cranmer was returned to its owner, who reportedly discovered one of the videos saved in Snapchat Memories before immediately contacting authorities.

Court documents state that the phone had originally been given to Cranmer by a former roommate as a birthday gift. After Cranmer moved out of the home, she returned the device, allowing the owner to review its contents.

While looking through the phone, the former roommate allegedly found a 14-second video that investigators say showed Cranmer engaging in criminal sexual conduct involving a young child. Authorities say the witness saved the video before turning the phone over to law enforcement.

Detectives with the Little Egg Harbor Police Department and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit launched an investigation after receiving the evidence. Search warrants were later executed for both the cellphone and Cranmer’s Snapchat account.

According to investigators, additional videos were allegedly recovered during the investigation from Snapchat’s Memories feature.

Authorities also allege that at least one of the recordings had been shared through the social media platform.

Investigators allege the incident occurred on May 6 inside a bathroom at a Little Egg Harbor residence while the child was in Cranmer’s care.

Court records state investigators were able to identify Cranmer in the video through several distinctive tattoos visible in the footage, along with other evidence gathered during the investigation.

Officials have not publicly identified the child in order to protect the victim’s privacy.

Cranmer has been charged with several serious offenses, including:

Second-degree sexual assault
Second-degree manufacturing of child sexual abuse material
Third-degree possession of child sexual abuse material
Third-degree endangering the welfare of a child

She was booked into the Ocean County Jail, where court records indicate she is being held without bail while the criminal case moves forward.

As of the latest reports, it was not immediately clear whether she had retained legal representation or entered a plea.

Authorities have not indicated whether additional charges could be filed as investigators continue reviewing digital evidence recovered during the case.

The allegations have drawn widespread attention across New Jersey due to the disturbing nature of the accusations and the claim that the alleged abuse was recorded and preserved through Snapchat.

As with all criminal cases, the charges against Cranmer are allegations. She is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

The investigation remains active, and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Little Egg Harbor Police Department or the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.
