Houston rapper NFL Cartel Bo (Warren Brown) is facing a serious legal battle after authorities accused him of kidnapping the mother of his children and holding her captive inside a Cypress, Texas home.
According to investigators, the case began after deputies with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office responded to a welfare check at a home in the Cypress area. Authorities said they were investigating reports that a woman may have been held against her will.
Court records allege the woman, who shares children with Cartel Bo, told investigators she had been trapped inside the home for multiple days. Prosecutors claim she was confined inside a closet and that evidence was later discovered inside the home that investigators believe supported her claims.
Officials said the woman was eventually able to escape after the rapper allegedly left the home. Investigators reported finding items including zip ties and other evidence during their search of the residence.
The allegations come as Cartel Bo was already facing previous domestic violence-related accusations involving the same woman, according to court records. Authorities say those prior allegations played a role in the ongoing investigation.
The rapper has now been charged with aggravated kidnapping, one of the more serious criminal charges under Texas law. Prosecutors have argued that he should remain in custody while the case moves forward.
