Georgia Woman Convicted After Allegedly Throwing Heated Chemical on Friend, Leaving Her Permanently Injured

A Georgia woman has been convicted of first-degree assault after prosecutors said she threw a heated chemical substance on a longtime friend, leaving the victim with severe burns, permanent injuries and a lengthy hospital stay.

A Mobile County jury found Quicheay Williams guilty following a trial centered on a violent confrontation that allegedly erupted after the victim, Jasmine Clausell, asked Williams to move out of her home.

According to testimony and reporting from FOX10 News, Clausell and Williams had been longtime friends, and Clausell had allowed Williams to stay with her. But prosecutors said tensions between the two women escalated on February 25 after Clausell told Williams it was time for her to leave.

Authorities alleged that during the confrontation, Williams heated what was described in court as a chemical substance in a microwave before throwing it onto Clausell.

The substance caused catastrophic injuries.

Clausell reportedly spent approximately two months in the hospital as she underwent treatment for severe burns affecting a significant portion of her body, particularly on the left side. The attack also allegedly left her with lasting damage, including the loss of her left eardrum and hearing, limited vision in her left eye and extensive scarring.

She has undergone multiple skin graft surgeries and several laser treatments as part of her recovery.

The victim’s grandfather also testified during the trial, describing the moments surrounding the attack. According to reports, he witnessed the women struggling before hearing Clausell scream that something had been thrown on her.

Prosecutors also alleged that Williams pulled out a gun during the confrontation.

One major detail, however, remains unclear. Public reporting on the case has not identified exactly what type of chemical substance was allegedly used in the attack. Authorities and local media have described it only as a “chemical substance,” and no specific chemical has been publicly confirmed.

The jury ultimately sided with prosecutors, convicting Williams of first-degree assault.

Under Alabama law, first-degree assault is a Class B felony. Williams could face a prison sentence of up to 20 years when she is sentenced. She is currently being held while awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled for October 14, 2026.

For Clausell, the verdict marks the end of the criminal trial, but the physical consequences of the attack are expected to remain part of her life. Her recovery has involved months of medical treatment and multiple procedures as she continues dealing with the permanent effects of the injuries.

The case has drawn attention because of the disturbing allegations surrounding the attack and the fact that the two women were reportedly longtime friends before their relationship allegedly turned violent.

With Williams now convicted, the focus will shift to her upcoming sentencing, where a judge will determine how much prison time she will serve for the assault.
