SUGAR LAND, TEXAS — A youth girls’ softball game turned into a violent scene after an argument over cheering allegedly escalated into a physical altercation, leaving one father with serious injuries and two parents facing criminal charges.
According to court records and reports from Houston-area news outlets, the incident happened Saturday evening, October 24, at Imperial Park in Sugar Land, Texas. Police were called to the park after a fight broke out among adults attending a game involving youth softball teams.
Authorities identified the arrested couple as Kiarious Hall and his wife, Jazmine Hall. Investigators say what started as a disagreement about cheering during the game eventually turned into a confrontation involving multiple adults, with witness-recorded video becoming an important part of the investigation.
According to court documents, Kiarious Hall told police he was at the game supporting his daughter’s team when another spectator confronted him about cheering before a pitch was thrown.
The disagreement reportedly continued even after the two began arguing. A second man eventually approached the situation, and the confrontation escalated.
Hall told investigators that one of the men poked him in the chest and that he acted in self-defense. However, according to the affidavit, video reviewed by investigators showed Hall swinging a metal water bottle and striking another man in the face.
The man reportedly fell to the ground, struck his head and became unconscious.
Investigators also said the footage showed Hall swinging the bottle at a second man before the situation turned into a physical fight. Bystanders eventually intervened as the confrontation moved toward nearby bushes.
Victims Reportedly Suffered Serious Injuries
The injuries reported following the altercation have made the incident even more disturbing.
According to reporting by ABC13 Houston and other outlets, one of the men was transported to a hospital with a head injury. An attorney representing that man later said he suffered a broken jaw, a fractured skull and three brain bleeds.
The second man, identified in reports as Gary Greaser, also reportedly suffered injuries during the confrontation, including cuts and scrapes. Greaser told reporters he needed seven stitches to his chin and suffered a broken hip.
The accounts of the incident come from court documents, witness statements and news interviews. The criminal allegations have not yet been fully resolved in court.
Authorities also allege that Jazmine Hall became involved in the altercation.
According to investigators, witness video showed Jazmine Hall entering the confrontation and pushing Greaser before the fight continued near the bushes. Bystanders ultimately stepped in to separate the people involved.
Both Kiarious Hall and Jazmine Hall were arrested and taken to the Fort Bend County Jail.
Court records reported by the Houston Chronicle indicate that Kiarious Hall faces two misdemeanor assault counts, while Jazmine Hall faces one count of assault causing bodily injury. The couple reportedly posted bond and were released while their cases proceed.
Kiarious Hall’s account to police was that he acted in self-defense. Investigators, however, cited the witness video as part of the evidence reviewed in the case.
Jazmine Hall was identified as an assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. Following her arrest, the district confirmed that the employee had voluntarily reported the incident to its Human Resources Department.
The district said the altercation happened outside school and was not connected to a school-sponsored event. It also confirmed that the employee resigned effective Monday, October 26.
The school district declined to provide further comment, citing the personnel matter.
