What started as a simple fishing trip reportedly turned into a frightening confrontation in Lee County, Florida, after a man allegedly put his hands on a 17-year-old boy during an argument that was caught on camera.
According to Gulf Coast News, the incident began when two teenagers, identified as 17-year-old Isaiah and 15-year-old Brycin, were fishing at a neighborhood pond. The situation reportedly escalated after a man complained about the teenagers being on the property and reported them for trespassing.
After being told to leave, the teenagers headed home on an electric bike. However, things allegedly took another turn when the same man came driving toward a stop sign and suddenly slammed on his brakes, nearly hitting them, according to the teenagers.
The boys reportedly confronted the driver about what happened, leading to a heated exchange of words. During the confrontation, the man allegedly threw liquid at the teenagers before driving away.
According to the teenagers, the man eventually stopped his vehicle, got out, and approached them. Video obtained by Gulf Coast News reportedly captures the moments leading up to the physical confrontation, including the man grabbing Isaiah around the neck.
Brycin described the frightening moment, saying he saw the man get behind his friend before grabbing him by the neck. He also described the man’s actions as looking like he was attempting to shove his fingers down his friend’s throat.
The incident left the teenagers shaken, with Isaiah speaking out about what happened and questioning why an adult would put his hands on a child over a situation like this.
The confrontation has since drawn attention because of the video showing the alleged chokehold and the fact that one of the people involved is only 17 years old.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the man was arrested following the incident. Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
