Chicago police fatally shot the wrong man after they mistakenly thought he was his brother.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi announced the incident on his twitter page stating that the suspect, Curtis Stagger was actually the brother of the murder suspect sought in connection with a May 14 homicide.
Chicago police said that they confused the victim for his brother, who was wanted in the killing of a 15-year-old boy earlier this month.
The officers who fired their weapons are now on mandatory desk duty for 30 days, police Sgt. Rocco Alioto told reporters.
