
A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis appears to crash at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport while landing around 2:15 p.m. on Monday.
The airport operator said it was “aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta plane arriving from Minneapolis.” According to the post, emergency teams responded, and all passengers and crew members were accounted for.
The Association of Flight Attendants, members of which were working the flight, wrote in a social media post that there were reportedly no fatalities.
80 people, including 76 passengers and 4 crew members, were on board at the time. all 80 people on board survived and those hurt had relatively minor injuries, the airport’s chief executive said.
So far 19 passengers were injured and had been taken to hospitals. Officials said one of those passengers was a child and that two patients had to be transported by air ambulance.
This incident comes less than 3 weeks after a air collision between an American Airlines regional jet and a US military helicopter just outside Washington that killed 67 people as the commercial plane approached Reagan National Airport.
