Michigan State Police say they are investigating a terrible Highway road rage…
A man who had more than five guns in his car got into a traffic crash on Tuesday, then assaulted another driver in a road rage dispute and even fired a shot at a good Samaritan who tried to help around 6:15 p.m. on the southbound Lodge freeway.
Police arrived they found a man in a white Chrysler 300 and took him into custody at gunpoint.
The man had just been involved in a crash with a 66-year-old woman from Southfield, police say. whom he possibly assaulted though it’s not clear from her injuries, whether the woman was hurt in the crash or possibly from the assailant.
A bystander’s videos posted to Facebook appear to show two sedans pulled over to the side of the freeway, and an assailant with a rifle firing a shot at the car ahead of him. A second video shows the suspect being taken into custody by several officers.
That Southfield woman who was involved in the crash has been taken to a hospital for treatment, where her condition was not yet known.
Officers interviewed him about his motives on Tuesday night, but he “appears to have mental health issues, which is making it difficult to determine what caused this incident,” Shaw said.
