An Oregon man is accused of faking a home invasion to cover up money he stole from his daughter’s sale of Girl Scout cookies.
40 year-old Brian Couture of Forest Grove called 911 on March 6 and reported that he got into a fight with someone that had broke into his home through a sliding glass door.
Couture was unresponsive when police arrived and he was taken to a hospital. The area was searched, but no suspect was located.
Police said Couture later admitted that he had staged the incident.
A Girl Scouts spokeswoman confirmed Couture is the father of a Girl Scout and there is around $740 in unaccounted for cookie sales in connection with this case.
