J Prince hit the stage of the 2016 Go DJ Awards held at Houston’s NRG Arena on July 18 where he was honored for his contributions locally and to the genre at large.
While accepting his award, Prince mocked Birdman’s most recent catch phrase, saying that he and others should put respect on their own.
“We don’t wanna go around and beg nobody to put no respect on our name. Because we already respected. We not them kind of people. We put respect on our own name. Therefore we don’t gotta do no plea bargaining. Just know that and represent that. I’m with you one love,”
