Jury Recommends 30 Years For Security Guard Convicted In Death Of Pokémon GO Playing Grandfather

On Monday a Virginia jury recommended former security guard Johnathan Cromwell 30-year’s behind bars for the death of a Chinese immigrant who was out playing Pokemon Go.

Loved ones cried outside the courthouse where the future of a security guard who was found guilty of killed a man will be decided. A jury recommended Johnathan Cromwell spend the next 30 years in prison after shooting Jiansheng Chen, 60. Investigators say Chen was playing Pokemon Go in his minivan in a relative’s Virginia neighborhood at the time. Cromwell testified during the two-week trial he shot Chen in self-defense and told the jury Chen was previously banned from the private property.
