KFC suspending use of “Finger Lickin Good” slogan and advertising due to the coronavirus pandemic.
For 64 years the fast food restaurant chain has been using the slogan but today they’ve decided to put a pause on the slogan because….well the phrase seems inappropriate during this time.
On Monday KFC announced that it will pause its use of the longtime advertisement amid the COVID-19 crisis, which has prompted health officials to urge people to wash their hands and avoid touching their faces.
“We find ourselves in a unique situation — having an iconic slogan that doesn’t quite fit in the current environment,” KFC’s global chief marketing officer, Catherine Tan-Gillespie, said in a statement.
“While we are pausing the use of It’s Finger Lickin’ Good, rest assured the food craved by so many people around the world isn’t changing one bit.”
