A Florida man was taken into police custody on Wednesday for beating up an elderly golfer and trying to steal his golf balls at a course.
22 Year-Old Tyler Dearden reportedly took golf balls from the golfers bucket at the Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala on Wednesday.
The golfer reported Dearden after asking him numerous of times to get his own golf balls and leave his alone.
The golfer said when he returned to the driving range, Dearden came up to him pretending to apologize before punching him to the ground.
According to Deputies Dearden beat the golfer up so bad that he broke his ribs leaving him with several bruises and cuts that required 9 stitches.
In his offence Dearden told deputies he was defending himself after the golfer threatened him by pointing his golf club at him.
Dearden is charged with aggravated battery on a person 65 years of age or older and was placed on $10,000 bail.
