A business owner was arrested after he received more than $2 million in coronavirus relief funds then used about a third of that money to buy a new boat.

35 Year-Old Casey David Crowther of Fort Myers, Florida faces federal charges for making a false statements to a lending institution, according to court records. If he’s convicted, Crowther could face up to 30 years behind bars.

Crowther was charged with fraudulently acquiring $2 million in COVID-19 relief funds through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and using nearly $700k of it to buy a 40-foot catamaran boat and registered it under his name.
