Pennsylvania mom pulled her 6-year-old daughter’s hair so hard that it actually separated the skin from the skull, police said.
Brittany Ruck viciously pulled the girl’s locks and threw her into a corner at their Conway home after getting angry when she kept forgetting how to count to 12, it’s claimed.
The child’s hair was pulled so violently that “blood ended up pooling around the eyes, giving her raccoon eyes,” Conway Police Department’s Michael Priolo told CBS Pittsburgh.
The 25-year-old is also accused of dragging the youngster across the floor by her hair the following day.
Doctors at Children’s Hospital called cops after the girl was brought in suffering from traction on Aug. 31, a few days after the incident.
During questioning, Ruck reportedly confessed to pulling her hair on “multiple occasions” but claimed she thought she wasn’t doing anything wrong.
Ruck, who also has two other children aged 4 and 1, was charged with aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person
She is being held in the Beaver County Jail on $50,000 bond. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 23.
The girl spent several days in hospital, but has since been released and is now staying with a relative.
