New Jersey officer arrested a man on Monday for selling heroin named after the Covid-19 virus.
According to NJ.com Around 10:30 p.m. a Paterson, NJ police officer said he saw a hand to hand transaction being made by two men between Godwin Ave and Auburn street.
The officer who was sitting in his patrol car said he spotted the men exchanging money and a green plastic vial.
The dealer ran when officers approached him dropping a bag of heroin that had “Corona Virus” stamped on the label.
Later police arrested a 53-year-old man following a struggle in a alley and found two more bags with the “Corona Virus” label.
He was arrested and charged with multiple drug charges.
“While we work feverishly to stop the spread of this virus, we are also working to stop the spread of drugs in Paterson,” Mayor Andre Sayegh said in an email. “Our police department is performing at a very high level during this crisis.”
