Wife attacks husband with knife after he bought her the wrong Valentine's Day Gift

Officers arrested a woman after she brutally attacked her husband with a knife for buying her the wrong gift for Valentines day.

57 Year-old Rita Tate was charged with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault and is being held on $50,000 bond.

Authorities stated the incident occurred after the husband presented his wife with a necklace instead of the bracelet she had requested.

The report stated that officers observed a small laceration on the husband’s arm, which he claimed was from the knife his wife had brandished.

Tate was subsequently arrested and charged with domestic assault.  The couple’s young children were home at the time of the incident, which added to the gravity of the situation.

Authorities noted that this was not the first time they had responded to calls involving the couple, suggesting a pattern of domestic discord.

The officers observed Tate in an agitated state upon arrival. She claimed her husband had become physically aggressive and she feared for her safety, prompting her to arm herself.

Both parties were interviewed, and evidence was collected from the scene. The case was forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review of potential charges against either or both individuals.
