Video obtained by NewYorkPost reveals moment $167.3M Powerball winner is tackled, tased after attacking Florida deputy.
James Farthing, aged 50, from Georgetown, Kentucky, was taken into custody on April 29, 2025, at a resort in St. Pete Beach after an incident late at night.
During the altercation, he was knocked down by multiple police officers and then tased for his actions, which included stomping on an officer.
Farthing kicked the deputy while he was holding someone down. Resort security quickly intervened to subdue the suspect against the wall and assist the deputy.
Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the resort at approximately 11.10pm following reports of a physical altercation involving Farthing and another guest.
The situation escalated when the father attempted to kick the man but unintentionally kicked the officer in the face.
Farthing and his mother celebrated his recent big jackpot win that night with his girlfriend Jacqueline Fightmaster, 42, at TradeWins Island Grand Resort.
The officer who was kicked verified the incident with the other deputies, then left the other man on the ground and handled Farthing personally.
The cop pointed a taser at the shirtless man as he looked into the bright light.
Farthing, according to officials, was drunk, uncooperative, and aggressive, eventually resorting to violent behavior against law enforcement.
He faced charges for not cooperating with an officer peacefully, assaulting a law enforcement officer, and breaking his parole.
His girlfriend faced charges of disorderly intoxication and was subsequently set free.
During the interaction, witnesses portrayed her as confrontational in her speech.
