$35K Rolex Stolen From Hotel Room, Suspect Caught at Airport.

A woman has been charged in connection with the theft of a $35,000 Rolex watch from a tourist’s room at the iconic Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel.

Authorities say the incident unfolded after the victim invited the suspect into his hotel room.

According to police reports, the 21-year-old woman, identified as Deonasia Walker, met the tourist earlier in the evening at a nearby restaurant.

The two returned to the hotel room, where Walker reportedly requested $1,000 for her company, which the man sent electronically.

The tourist later fell asleep, and when he awoke, his Rolex watch was missing. Surveillance footage captured Walker leaving the room shortly after midnight.

Investigators say the stolen Rolex was sold later the same day for approximately $13,000 at a local jewelry store. Using pawn records, identification, and a thumbprint match, Miami Beach police were able to track down and arrest Walker at Miami International Airport.

Miami Beach Police Department spokesperson stated:   “This case highlights a troubling pattern we’ve seen in the area. Tourists are often targeted by individuals who exploit nightlife settings and hotel stays to commit thefts of high-value items. We urge visitors to remain vigilant.”

Walker is currently facing multiple charges related to theft and fraud and is being held on bond. Authorities are investigating whether she may be involved in other similar incidents in the Miami Beach area.

Officials advise tourists to:

Keep valuables in hotel safes whenever possible

Avoid inviting strangers to private hotel rooms

Report suspicious activity immediately

This incident serves as a reminder that even luxury destinations require caution when it comes to personal belongings.
