San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Keion White was shot in the ankle early Monday morning following a reported dispute that police say involved rapper Lil Baby at a nightclub in San Francisco’s Mission District.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. near Dahlia’s, where White was hosting a private party adjacent to a larger post-Super Bowl event. According to law enforcement sources and media reports, an argument reportedly broke out between White and Lil Baby (real name Dominique Jones) after members of Lil Baby’s entourage attempted to enter White’s private celebration.
San Francisco police told reporters that the dispute escalated inside the venue and, after parties briefly separated to seek management, gunshots were heard. When people returned to the scene, White had been struck in the ankle. Authorities have not publicly identified who fired the shots.
White was promptly transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery. Team officials confirmed that the injury is non-life-threatening and that White is expected to recover.
The San Francisco Police Department is actively investigating the shooting. No arrests have been announced, and detectives are working to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the gunfire.
Representatives for Lil Baby have not publicly commented on the incident at this time.
