Florida Woman Arrested After Firing at Vehicle During Juvenile Fight.

A Florida woman was arrested after authorities say she fired multiple shots at a vehicle carrying juveniles during the aftermath of a fight at a local park, escalating a chaotic scene that investigators say could have turned deadly.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office, the incident unfolded at Lake Betty Park in Port Charlotte after deputies responded to reports of a physical altercation involving several juveniles.

Investigators said three juvenile males were involved in a fight at the park, during which one of the teens sustained minor injuries. After the altercation, one of the juveniles reportedly contacted his mother, later identified as 43-year-old Lakesia Taylor, to report what had happened.

Authorities say Taylor arrived as the situation was calming down or shortly after the fight ended. At that time, several juveniles were leaving the area in a vehicle.

Deputies allege that Taylor observed her son injured and on the ground before pulling out a firearm and firing at the departing vehicle.

According to investigators, she fired approximately three shots, striking the vehicle twice — once on the driver’s side door and once on the rear. There were four occupants inside the car at the time, all of whom were juveniles. No injuries from gunfire were reported.

The incident occurred near Lake Betty Park in Lake Betty Park.

Taylor was later taken into custody and charged with discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle, a serious felony offense under Florida law. She was booked into the Charlotte County Jail and held without bond following her arrest.

Law enforcement officials emphasized that while the situation began as a juvenile fight, it quickly escalated into a far more dangerous encounter when gunfire was involved.

Authorities noted that firing into a moving vehicle placed multiple people at serious risk, including both the occupants of the car and any bystanders in the park.

The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to review statements and evidence from the scene.
