Police in the United Kingdom have dismantled a drug operation after storming a residential property allegedly used by dealers who exploited vulnerable men and ran a Class A drug supply network from inside their homes.
The investigation revealed that the suspects were involved in a practice known as “cuckooing”—a form of exploitation where criminals take over the homes of vulnerable individuals and use the property for illegal activity, most commonly drug distribution.
According to law enforcement sources, the victims in this case were vulnerable adult men who were targeted and coerced into allowing their homes to be used by the drug gang.
In some cases, victims were reportedly intimidated, manipulated, or kept in a state of dependency while the criminals used their living spaces as drug dealing bases.
Authorities said the victims were subjected to ongoing abuse, with the property being used to store, prepare, and distribute drugs including heroin and crack cocaine.
The situation left the residents effectively trapped in their own homes while criminal activity took place around them.
During the investigation, officers reportedly discovered video material linked to the suspects that documented aspects of the operation and the mistreatment of vulnerable individuals.
The footage played a role in building the case against those involved and highlighting the scale of the exploitation.
