Allege Relative Defends Employee After Fatal Tim Hortons Altercation Involving 75-Year-Old Woman.

A relative of  75-year-old Anita Grayson who was  involved in a confrontation at a Tim Hortons in Fort Wayne, Indiana, has defended the employee involved, saying the woman had a history of aggressive behavior.

The claim was shared publicly on social media following the incident.

Shandrika Grayson Wrote: August Honor ”I want to make sure you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that you did exactly what you had to do. No matter what the so-called Grayson family is talking about or what they claim they’re going to do—they aren’t going to do a single thing. They are all talk and absolutely nobody.

I want to personally thank you for using your hands to finally get the justice that my mom and my auntie truly deserve. Your courage gave our family what we’ve been longing for. Don’t let their noise stress you for a second. We see you, we appreciate you, and we have your back through it all, all day, every day.

However, other family members and local activists have pushed back on that characterization, calling for greater accountability from the restaurant and urging a formal investigation into how staff handled the situation.

The incident occurred on May 13, 2026, at a Tim Hortons located at 3975 Ice Way in Fort Wayne, when Anita Grayson went to the restaurant to complain about a drive-thru order.

According to police, Grayson began verbally confronting a 17-year-old employee, which led a 20-year-old shift manager to step in. Surveillance footage released by the Fort Wayne Police Department reportedly shows Grayson shoving and striking the shift manager, after which a physical struggle broke out and both individuals fell to the floor.

After the altercation, Grayson reportedly sat down at a table before later lying on the floor. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office said an autopsy found “no significant contributory injuries,” and that the official cause and manner of death are still pending. The case has been referred to the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
