MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis rapper Big30 has been released from federal custody after a judge denied a government request to keep him jailed while he awaits trial in a high-profile federal kidnapping and robbery case.
The rapper, whose legal name is Rodney Wright Jr., is among several defendants facing federal charges stemming from an alleged January 2026 incident in Dallas.
Prosecutors allege that multiple individuals participated in a kidnapping and robbery scheme connected to a dispute involving rapper Gucci Mane and members of the music industry.
