Six Arrested After Fatal Bungee Jump Safety Failure in Brazil.

Brazilian authorities have confirmed multiple arrests following the death of a 21-year-old woman during a bungee-style jump accident in Limeira, São Paulo state.

Police say six people have been taken into custody in connection with the incident at the “Skeleton Bridge” (Ponte do Esqueleto), where the victim, Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, fell roughly 40 meters after allegedly being launched without being properly secured to a safety line.

According to the Civil Police of São Paulo, the arrests include individuals involved in organizing and operating the activity. Investigators have indicated that three of those detained are facing charges of homicide with implied malice, while the remaining suspects are being questioned over their roles in the operation and potential safety violations.

Authorities are also examining whether the extreme sports activity was being conducted without proper authorization or required regulatory oversight.

Early findings suggest serious lapses in safety procedures, including failure to properly attach critical safety equipment.

Police have not yet released the identities of those arrested, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Officials say additional charges have not been ruled out as forensic analysis, witness statements, and video evidence continue to be reviewed.
