Judge lowers bond for Jake Lang, influencer accused of threatening to kill Karmelo Anthony.

FRISCO, TEXAS — Right-wing influencer and pardoned Jan. 6 defendant Jake Lang was arrested in Texas following allegations that he made violent threats during public activity surrounding the high-profile murder case of Karmelo Anthony, authorities said.

According to law enforcement records and reports, Lang was arrested on June 10, 2026, after being taken into custody in North Texas and later booked into the Dallas County Jail.

Officials say the arrest stems from a third-degree felony charge of making a terroristic threat, with a bond set at $1 million.

Authorities allege the incident occurred near the Collin County courthouse in Frisco, where proceedings related to the Karmelo Anthony murder case were drawing heavy public and online attention.

Court documents and reporting indicate Lang was present outside the courthouse during a period of heightened tensions tied to the Anthony case.

Investigators allege that during a livestreamed interaction, Lang made statements interpreted as threats of violence directed toward Anthony, including references to waiting outside the courthouse and suggesting harm.

Law enforcement agencies say the Texas Department of Public Safety and local authorities later reviewed video footage and online content before identifying Lang and initiating the arrest.

Jake Lang is a controversial political influencer who previously gained national attention for his involvement in the January 6 Capitol riot. He was later pardoned, but has continued to appear at politically charged events and court proceedings tied to high-profile criminal cases.

His presence at the Frisco courthouse reportedly drew attention from both supporters and critics of Anthony, contributing to a tense atmosphere outside the proceedings.

The arrest is tied indirectly to the widely followed murder case of Karmelo Anthony, a Texas teenager who was convicted in 2026 for the fatal stabbing of fellow student Austin Metcalf during a 2025 high school track meet dispute.

That case has drawn national controversy, social media debate, and repeated demonstrations at court hearings.

Lang’s alleged threats occurred during the sentencing and legal proceedings that surrounded the case.

Lang faces a third-degree felony charge of making a terroristic threat, which in Texas can carry:

2 to 10 years in prison if convicted
Significant fines and probation conditions depending on sentencing

He is currently being held on bond while the case moves forward.
