Amazon Driver Accused of Taking Cat From Lakewood Home.

LAKEWOOD, Calif. A Lakewood woman is searching for answers after she says an Amazon delivery driver stole her cat while dropping off a package at her home.

The incident occurred on Hazelbrook Avenue and was captured on the homeowner’s Ring camera.

Diane Huff-Medina spoke with Eyewitness News on Sunday, sharing video that shows the delivery driver approaching her front door and leaving a package. Shortly afterward, the footage appears to show the driver stopping to pet her cat, Piper.

Moments later, the video shows the driver picking up the cat and walking away.

“I thought he was just petting her for a second,” Huff-Medina said. “I had to watch it a couple of times because it’s dark and hard to see. He doesn’t carry her very nicely — I saw her little tail and thought, ‘Oh my God.’ I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.”

Huff-Medina said Amazon informed her they identified the driver but have been unable to contact him. She has also filed a report with the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station, though she was told it could take weeks or even months before the case is investigated.
