Lauderdale Lakes, FL — A man accused of punching another shopper outside an Aldi nearly two weeks ago has been arrested.
Dandrea Tioni Johnson, 45, was taken into custody Wednesday and booked on a felony battery charge, according to Broward County jail records.
The attack happened around 7:20 p.m. on October 11 at the Aldi on 3301 North State Road 7. Surveillance video reportedly shows Johnson arguing with the victim inside the store before following him outside and sucker-punching him, causing the victim to fall and hit his head. The victim remains in a coma.
Johnson told the judge he struck the man after being attacked by the victim’s pit bull service dog.
A judge set Johnson’s bond at $100,000, ordered him to wear a GPS monitor, have no contact with the victim, and stay away from the grocery store.
