The Beef bandit, as referred to by authorities, was apprehended for stealing close to $800 worth of meat from Walmart by concealing it in his trousers.

The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office stated that on Wednesday morning, dispatchers were contacted regarding a man who had exited Walmart without paying for concealed items, then came back to attempt the same.

Witnesses stated the suspect fled in a black Honda lacking a license plate. The Denham Springs Police Department subsequently located and halted the car on Range Avenue close to I-12.

Deputies were informed by witnesses that Michael Ardoin, aged 57, was seen secreting packs of meat into his pants.

Ardoin is charged with felonies because of his long record of theft, with a total of 74 arrests, 26 of which were for theft, resulting in 9 convictions.

As per the regulations, individuals with two or more theft convictions will face upgraded charges, as stated in the post.

Ardoin faces two felony theft charges and traffic tickets from the Denham Springs Police Department. He was taken into custody at the Livingston Parish Detention Center.

The meat that was stolen has been given back to the stores, but it won’t be put up for sale. The sheriff’s office stated that the packs must be disposed of.
