South Carolina mom of three who went viral who went viral for working hours by herself at Burger King says she was fired.
Despite Nykia Hamilton’s online persona as the Burger King Mom, she lost her job after single-handedly managing all operations at a Burger King location in South Carolina, showcasing a strong work ethic that went viral.
Hamilton recently updated her followers on her TikTok account about her situation.
They let me go because my kids caused me to arrive late, she tearfully shared. My children are my priority. I don’t have anyone to cover childcare costs.
Hamilton, a 25-year-old single mother of three from Columbia, South Carolina, gained widespread recognition in July when a customer filmed her managing the entire store alone after a colleague left unexpectedly during their shift. The video depicted her multitasking, handling food preparation, operating the drive-thru, cleaning, and attending to the front counter, all while maintaining the store’s workflow by herself.
After the video circulated, Hamilton started a GoFundMe to assist her and her children. The initial goal was $60,000, but it was later increased to $70,000 due to ongoing contributions. She is nearing the new target, receiving support from numerous donors to alleviate the impact of her unexpected unemployment.
