Colorado CEO Sentenced for Assaulting Teen at In‑N‑Out.

A Colorado CEO has been sentenced after a widely publicized incident in which he grabbed a teenage boy by the neck and slammed him to the ground at an In‑N‑Out Burger.

The assault, which occurred nearly two years ago, drew national attention after bystanders recorded the violent encounter.

The victim, a 15‑year‑old boy, was reportedly splashing water during a playful moment inside the restaurant when some of it accidentally landed on a woman sitting nearby.

The boy approached to apologize, and that’s when the CEO, identified in court as Lucas Kalisher, intervened. Witnesses say Kalisher grabbed the teen by the neck, pulled him onto a table, and then forcefully slammed him to the floor.

The attack was captured on video and quickly circulated online, prompting both public outrage and a police investigation. Kalisher was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including second-degree assault by strangulation and child abuse.

In February 2026, Kalisher entered a guilty plea for second-degree attempted assault by strangulation, a class five felony. As part of a plea agreement, the more serious charges were dismissed. He was sentenced to 30 months of probation, 120 hours of community service, and is required to complete anger management counseling. Kalisher also must submit a formal apology to the teen and pay restitution, with strict probation conditions to prevent any contact with the victim.

The plea deal ensures that if Kalisher violates his probation, he could face jail time and additional legal consequences.

This case has reignited conversations about adult accountability and public safety, especially in incidents involving minors. The viral video remains a stark reminder of the consequences of violent behavior in public spaces.
