Drake and Don Toliver Drop Official “Solar Eclipse” Music Video.

Drake and Don Toliver are keeping the momentum going with the official music video for their new collaboration, “Solar Eclipse.”

The video arrived October 5, just days after the track officially hit streaming services as part of Drake’s expanded HABIBTI (FOMO) project. The song had already been getting plenty of attention after Drake previewed it during his FOMO film last month, leaving fans waiting to hear the full version.

“Solar Eclipse” is Drake and Don Toliver’s reworked version of Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas,” transforming the country hit into a darker, more atmospheric collaboration. Drake officially released the track on October 2, with Don Toliver joining him for the remix.

The collaboration gives the original song a completely different feel. Instead of sticking with the country sound of Langley’s hit, Drake and Don Toliver take the record into a moody, late-night trap/R&B direction.

Pitchfork described the track as a lounge-trap slow burn, with Drake leaning into his smoother vocals while Don Toliver brings his signature melodic style to the record.

For Drake, the release is another addition to an extremely busy 2026. The rapper has already delivered multiple projects this year, with HABIBTI (FOMO) adding four previously unreleased songs that fans first heard during the FOMO film.

Those additions include “Solar Eclipse,” “Quebec,” “Classic PT2,” and “Cold Shoulder,” the latter featuring both Don Toliver and Yebba.

“Solar Eclipse” stands out because of the unlikely combination of Drake, Don Toliver and Ella Langley’s original songwriting. Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” had become a massive crossover success, while the new version allows Drake and Toliver to put their own spin on the record without simply recreating the original.

The music video also gives fans another visual from Drake’s ongoing FOMO era. Apple Music has officially listed the “Solar Eclipse” music video, while reports identify the video as an official Drake release that arrived October 5.

Don Toliver has also been having a major year of his own. The Houston-area artist released his Octane album earlier in 2026 and continues to build on his reputation for melodic vocals and atmospheric production. His appearance on “Solar Eclipse” gives the track an even stronger Texas connection, especially considering the song’s origins with Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas.”

Meanwhile, Drake continues to flood the market with new music and visuals. His FOMO project has already produced a large collection of music videos, and the rapper has reportedly teased even more activity heading into next year.

With “Solar Eclipse” now officially available and the music video out, fans can finally see the visual that goes along with one of the more unexpected Drake collaborations of the year.
