4 Suspects Arrested in String of Facebook Marketplace Robberies

Four suspects — including a juvenile — have been arrested following a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office investigation into a string of robberies connected to Facebook Marketplace meetups, authorities announced this week.

According to investigators, the suspects are linked to at least 11 robberies and six grand theft cases that occurred between October 2025 and May 2026 across Miami-Dade County.

Detectives say the group allegedly used Facebook Marketplace listings to lure victims into meetings under the guise of buying or selling electronics before robbing them.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office identified the adult suspects as Terrell Barry, Adrion Hall, and Nikell Atienne.

A fourth suspect, a 17-year-old juvenile, was also taken into custody but was not publicly identified because of their age.

Authorities said the investigation culminated in a targeted sting operation near Northwest 6th Avenue and 152nd Street in Miami, where deputies arrested the suspects without incident.

Investigators allege the group commonly targeted individuals selling high-value items such as smartphones, laptops, and other electronics through Facebook Marketplace.

Victims were reportedly contacted online and directed to meetup locations where the robberies took place.

Law enforcement officials are continuing to investigate whether additional robberies may be connected to the suspects.

Detectives are also encouraging anyone who may have had a similar experience involving Facebook Marketplace transactions to contact the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

The case highlights growing concerns nationwide surrounding online marketplace safety.

Police agencies across the country have repeatedly warned users to exercise caution when arranging in-person transactions through platforms such as Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, and OfferUp.

Safety recommendations from authorities include:

Meeting in public, well-lit locations
Using designated police department “safe exchange zones” when available
Avoiding isolated meetup spots
Bringing another person to transactions involving expensive items
Limiting cash transactions whenever possible

Charges against the suspects may continue to evolve as the investigation progresses. Authorities have not yet released information regarding court appearances or bond conditions.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office has not said whether additional arrests are expected.
