Fetty Wap and Monty are back with the official music video for their smash hit “My Way,” a record that helped turn Fetty’s melodic trap sound into one of the biggest movements in hip-hop.
Originally released in December 2014 through SoundCloud, “My Way” quickly became a fan favorite and was later featured on the 1738 Remy Boyz mixtape from Fetty Wap’s crew, Remy Boyz. The track showcases the chemistry between Fetty and Monty, delivering the catchy hooks and unique flow that made the 1738 movement stand out.
The song went from an underground favorite to a mainstream hit, eventually peaking at No. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. By September 2015, the original audio had already racked up more than 32 million views on YouTube, proving that fans were locked in before the song even received major radio attention.
The momentum continued when Drake jumped on the record with his official remix in June 2015. The remix brought even more attention to the track and became a massive success, collecting over 100 million views on YouTube and introducing “My Way” to an even bigger audience.
After the buzz continued growing, a remastered version of the original song leaked in July 2015. The updated version featured new ad-libs from Fetty Wap and was later released officially as a commercial single through iTunes. The final version included the updated vocals along with slight changes to the instrumental.
“My Way” became another major milestone in Fetty Wap’s breakout year, following the success of hits like “Trap Queen” and “679.” The record helped build anticipation for Fetty’s self-titled debut album, which was set to release on September 25, 2015.
