Newly released bodycam footage shows Florida teens arrest in alleged school murder plot

Newly released body-camera footage obtained by WKMG News is shedding new light on the arrest of two teenage girls accused of plotting to kill a classmate at Lake Brantley High School earlier this year.

The footage, made public Thursday, shows 14-year-olds Isabelle Valdez and Lois Lippert being taken into custody on campus on Jan. 23 after investigators uncovered what authorities describe as a planned attempted killing targeting another student.

Arrest caught on camera

According to investigators, the case began with an anonymous tip warning that a student was planning to kill a classmate. Authorities later identified that student as Valdez and located both girls at the school, where they were removed from class and questioned before being arrested.

Police say a search of Valdez’s belongings uncovered a knife along with other items allegedly intended for use in the attack.

Disturbing details of the alleged plot

Court documents and investigative reports describe a highly disturbing plan.

Authorities say Valdez intended to lure the victim into a school bathroom and either stab him in the stomach or cut his throat.

Investigators allege the motive was tied to an obsession with mass violence, including a fixation on the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter. Prosecutors say Valdez believed killing the victim would create a so-called “blood bond.”

Lippert is accused of assisting in the plan, including helping prepare materials and creating drawings depicting the victim’s death, according to records released alongside the footage.

Behavior inside patrol car raises concerns

In addition to the arrest footage, previously released video from inside a patrol car shows the two teens laughing and joking shortly after being taken into custody.

At one point, they discuss their mugshots and appearance, with one of them remarking about wanting to look good for the photo.

Prosecutors have pointed to the behavior in the video as evidence the teens showed little regard for the seriousness of the allegations.

Charges and court proceedings

Both girls have been charged as adults with attempted first-degree murder and related offenses.

A judge previously denied bond, citing concerns about community safety and the nature of the alleged plot.

They remain in custody as the case moves forward, with future court proceedings expected in the coming months.

Community reaction

The case has drawn significant attention across Central Florida, not only because of the suspects’ young ages but also due to the disturbing details outlined in court records.

Officials have emphasized that the alleged attack was prevented because someone came forward with information, highlighting the importance of reporting potential threats before violence occurs.
