On Monday, a man from Florida admitted to stealing around 75 pool floats throughout the years and hoarding them in an empty house.
Palm Beach police reported that Monnin spent the last 7 months of 2019 burglarizing homes in Palm Bay by cutting pool screens to steal pool floats.
Monnin served 8 months in jail and was fined $840 upon release. He got arrested when an officer saw him driving down the center of a road with a bag containing deflated pool floats.
Monnin confessed to the police that he had broken into multiple houses and stolen floats. He then led the investigators to an empty house, located opposite his Palm Bay home, where he had hidden the stolen floats.
Monnin admitted to authorities that he sexually stimulated himself using pool floats rather than assaulting women.
He faced charges for burglary, criminal mischief, and petit theft. His previous burglary offenses, occurring in 2007 and 2008, similarly revolved around the theft of pool floats.
