Kodak Black Appears in Court After 2nd Florida Arrest This Month.

Kodak Black appeared in a Broward County courtroom Thursday following his second arrest in Florida this month, this time on charges of attempting to flee law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence.

The rapper, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, surrendered to authorities in connection with what officials described as an ongoing investigation tied to an alleged traffic-stop incident in Pompano Beach.

According to Broward County jail records, Kapri was booked Thursday on charges of fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and resisting an officer without violence.

During Thursday’s court appearance, prosecutors reportedly pushed for stricter release conditions, including electronic monitoring and a significantly higher bond.

However, the judge denied those requests and instead set bond at $3,500, according to statements released by Kapri’s attorney, Bradford Cohen.

Cohen criticized the arrest and claimed his client is being unfairly targeted by authorities. In statements published by multiple outlets, the attorney described the case as a “self-surrender” connected to an investigation that allegedly took several months to develop.

The latest arrest comes just days after Kodak Black appeared in court in Orange County on a separate felony drug trafficking case involving MDMA.

In that case, authorities alleged that investigators discovered narcotics linked to the rapper during a November 2025 incident in Orlando. Kapri pleaded not guilty and requested a jury trial. A judge later set bond at $75,000.

The 28-year-old rapper has faced numerous legal issues throughout his career, including prior arrests on weapons, drug, and probation-related charges.

Despite ongoing legal troubles, Kodak Black remains one of the most recognizable artists to emerge from South Florida’s hip-hop scene.

As of Friday, no additional court dates related to the Broward County case had been publicly announced.
