Landlord Kills Tenant And Witness After Eviction Dispute.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A Milwaukee landlord is facing multiple homicide charges after authorities say he fatally shot his tenant during an eviction dispute, then killed a woman who witnessed the attack.

According to investigators, the incident began when 54-year-old Kevin Duane Griffin went to the home of his tenant, 39-year-old Terrance Wilder, on the city’s north side. Griffin had reportedly been attempting to evict Wilder and confronted him inside the residence. During the encounter, Griffin allegedly drew a gun and shot Wilder, killing him.

A second victim, 31-year-old A’nya Raymond, was inside the home with her young son at the time. Prosecutors say she witnessed the shooting. After killing Wilder, Griffin allegedly forced Raymond and her child into his vehicle and drove away from the residence.

While in the car, investigators say Griffin became aware that Raymond could identify him as the gunman. According to the criminal complaint, Griffin admitted to striking her and then shooting her multiple times. Raymond’s body was later discovered in an alley several miles from the initial crime scene. Her son, who was unharmed but traumatized, was found wandering alone hours later.

Authorities described the child as non-verbal and said he was wearing a shirt stained with blood. He has since been reunited with family members.

Griffin was arrested shortly after the discovery of Raymond’s body. He now faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree reckless homicide, and possession of a firearm as a felon. A judge set his bond at $500,000 during his initial court appearance.

Family members of both victims say they are devastated by the loss and are calling for justice. Records show Wilder had previously reported issues with the condition of his rental unit to local authorities in the months leading up to the shooting.

Griffin is scheduled to return to court for a preliminary hearing later this month.
