A Massachusetts man was arrested on Monday for opening an emergency exit door on a plane and trying to stab a attendant mid-flight.

33 Year-Old Francisco Severo Torres faces one charge of interference and attempted interference with flight crew members and attendants using a weapon.

Torres was arrested at Boston Logan International Airport Monday and will remain detained pending a hearing set for Thursday.

During a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston, the flight crew noticed Torres had been tampering with one of the plans doors disarming it.

As soon as attendants approached Torres he allegedly got out of his seat storming towards one of the flight attendants in a stabbing motion with a broken metal spoon, hitting the flight attendant on the neck area three times,” the department said.
