Video Shows Man Firing Shotgun Through Home Door Before Fatal Shooting of Teen

Authorities in York County are investigating a deadly shooting after surveillance video allegedly captured a man firing shotgun through the front door of a home hours before a 19-year-old woman was killed.

Police say the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Sean Xavier Hubbard of Clover, is accused of carrying out two separate shooting incidents on a residence in the 700 block of Mount Gallant Road in Rock Hill on Saturday night.

According to investigators, the first incident occurred earlier in the day when Hubbard allegedly fired a shotgun into the unoccupied home.

Later that evening, he reportedly returned to the same location and opened fire again.

During the second incident, 19-year-old Camariya Tidwell was struck and killed outside the residence.

Authorities said doorbell and security camera footage appears to show Hubbard approaching the home and discharging a shotgun through the front door during one of the incidents, evidence that has been widely shared in local reporting and played a key role in the investigation.

Rock Hill police stated that Tidwell was not the intended target of the attack. Investigators believe the suspect had an ongoing dispute with someone connected to the home, though officials have not confirmed a motive.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the fatal shooting, but Tidwell was pronounced dead from her injuries. The York County Coroner’s Office later confirmed her identity.

Following an investigation, Hubbard was arrested and charged with murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and discharging a firearm into a dwelling. He is being held in the York County jail without bond.

Police also confirmed that the suspect had been identified earlier in the day after the initial shooting into the home, but was not immediately located before the second, fatal incident occurred.

The case has drawn widespread attention after video footage of the shooting circulated online, raising concerns in the community about the escalation of violence and whether the tragedy could have been prevented.

The investigation remains ongoing.
