Man Kills Wife, Injures Stepdaughter After Argument Over NFL Game

A Florida man has been identified as Jason Kenney, who authorities say fatally shot his wife, Crystal Kenney, and seriously injured his teenage stepdaughter following a domestic argument reportedly centered on a televised NFL game.

According to law enforcement, the incident occurred inside the family’s home after a dispute escalated.

During the confrontation, Crystal Kenney was shot and pronounced dead at the scene. Her 13-year-old daughter was also shot and rushed to a local hospital, where officials later confirmed she was in stable condition and expected to survive.

Another child in the home managed to escape and alert neighbors, who contacted emergency services. A one-year-old child was found unharmed.

Following the shooting, Jason Kenney fled the residence, prompting a search by authorities. He was later located at a separate property, where he was found deceased before officers could take him into custody. Investigators have stated there is no threat to the public.

Officials indicated that alcohol may have played a role in the escalation of the argument, though the case remains under investigation.

Law enforcement described the incident as an act of domestic violence and emphasized the severe consequences such situations can have on families.

Community members expressed grief over the tragedy, while authorities urged anyone experiencing domestic conflict to seek help before disputes turn violent. Support services have been made available to the surviving children and extended family.
