A Florida man was arrested after he stabbed his mother and father all over a steak they confronted him about cooking.
At 2 a.m. on Friday, there were reports to the Fort Lauderdale police regarding a naked man bleeding and running in the vicinity of SW 28th Street and SW 15th Avenue. According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, law enforcement officers located the man, who informed them that he and his wife had been stabbed at their residence nearby.
Upon entering the residence, officers discovered 34-year-old Jose Monier IV along with his mother, who had sustained multiple life-threatening stab wounds. Paramedics transported her to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery. According to the police, she had suffered various lacerations on her arms and a stab wound to her heart.
Detectives conversed with the stepfather afterward, who mentioned that Monier resides intermittently in the house. On that specific evening, Monier was in the kitchen preparing a steak. His mother instructed him to refrain from cooking it as it was meant for the following day, as documented by law enforcement. Allegedly, Monier declined, leading to a dispute.
The individual is charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault. Additionally, he is accused of battery on a police officer by reportedly spitting on an officer. Monier is currently held in Broward County Jail with no bond.
