New Jersey Schools Evacuated After Receiving Bomb Threats

According to ABC News: Four of the nine New Jersey schools that received mass shooting and bomb threats have been cleared of danger, a police source familiar with the investigation told NBC 4 New York.

Schools in Tenafly, Leonia, Bergenfield, and Teaneck were cleared at about 11:00 a.m., the source said. The remaining 5 schools, in Garfield, Clifton, Fair Lawn, Englewood and Hackensack, were expected to be cleared soon after.

All nine of the schools were evacuated or placed on lockdown after officials at each received threats from someone claiming to have planted a bomb or was planning mass shootings, authorities said. In some of the towns, schools not mentioned in the threat were also being checked out by police.
